GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a highly recognisable and vastly successful manufacturer located in Droitwich. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a HGV Mechanic to join their team on a full-time, permanent contract. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package for the successful candidate.

On offer for the successful candidate is a salary of up to £46,800 per annum, with a working week of Monday to Friday 8:00am till 5:30pm.

You will be required to undertake all aspects of mechanical vehicle maintenance ranging from running defects, full servicing, vehicle overhauls, MOT preparation, and presentation.

HGV Mechanic main duties:

• Carry out service, repair, maintenance, and inspections on a range of state-of-the-art coaches and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults and carry out warranty repairs.
• Perform visual inspections, adjustment operations, and testing.
• Strip, fit, and replace components on vehicles.
• Be fully conversant with vehicle hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics.
• Responsible for the fitting of mechanical/hydraulic components on new and used recovery vehicles.
• Maintain inventory records and the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Complete company and legislative paperwork and keep up-to-date records of maintenance programs.
• Organise and care for the garage work area, including securing the area after work hours.
• Ensure the care, storage, and inventory of tools, materials, equipment, and facilities.

HGV Mechanic desired skills and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Commercial Vehicle Mechanic (required).
• HGV mechanical experience.
• Class 1 licence is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in vehicle hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
