GMP Recruitment are proud to partner with a highly successful Metal Manufacturer, delivering the highest quality metal products to the construction industry across the whole of the UK. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join their team located at their site in Kidderminster.

The position on offer is a full-time permanent position, working 40.5 Hours per week.

The company operating hours are Monday – Thurs, 16:30pm to 02:00am, you will be offered a highly competitive basic salary of up to £30,000 per annum, which is demonstrable with experience.

Our client is looking for an experienced Welder/ Fabricator to support and grow their ability to increase production all while providing a level of expertise to the manufacturing team. You will be responsible for welding stainless steel parts and support the production.

Main duties:

• Prepare required shaped and weld according to plans.
• Effectively operate TIG welder and equipment to fabricate items to customer requirements.
• Use grinder and buffer to smooth and clean as appropriately prior to and after welding.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and tools.
• Maintain a clean working area.
• Organise all supplies (materials, tools and equipment) required, liaising with appropriate parties.
• Follow Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.
• Ability to work on their own initiative and be a confident decision maker.
• Have the ability to work on your own or part of a team on bespoke projects.
• Must be well organised with experience of working to targets/deadlines.
• Follow Health & Safety Policy & Procedures.

Desirable previous experience:

• Previous experience welding (TIG)
• Ability to meet the criteria for the pulmonary function test
• Able to work with Mild Steel and Stainless Steel
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to identify and problem solve independently and within a team environment.
• Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Great time management of tasks.
• Must possess team building skills and communicate with all other departments throughout the organisation.
• Sheet metal Background Advantageous.
• Due to the location of the site own transport is essential.
