This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Junior Sous Chef to take the next step in their culinary career within a prestigious and highly regarded hospitality environment.
Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, helping to deliver exceptional dining experiences while developing your leadership skills within a talented and supportive brigade.
The Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you will support the senior kitchen team in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. You will take responsibility for sections of the kitchen, assist in supervising junior team members, and help ensure smooth and efficient service across all operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Chef de Partie or an existing Junior Sous Chef looking to further develop their skills within a high-quality culinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen.
- Assist in leading and motivating the kitchen brigade during service.
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to an exceptional standard.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all menu offerings.
- Supervise and support junior chefs, providing guidance and training where required.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Help minimise food waste and support effective kitchen cost controls.
- Ensure food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
- Contribute ideas towards menu development and seasonal specials.
- Step up and take additional responsibility when required during busy service periods.
About You
- Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef, or a strong Chef de Partie ready to progress into a supervisory role.
- Passion for food, quality ingredients, and exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A positive attitude with a genuine desire to learn, develop, and progress.
- Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen best practices.
- Ability to lead by example and support the development of junior team members.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining high standards.
