Our client is now seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join their passionate kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who wants to play a key role in delivering exceptional food while supporting the development of a creative, garden-led culinary offering.
This position offers the chance to work closely with the Head Chef, contribute to menu development, and help lead a dynamic brigade across a variety of food experiences, from refined dining to events and cookery school operations.
Pay: £36,000 per annum + exceptional service charge
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards across all areas. You will play an integral role in leading the team, driving standards, and contributing to the ongoing development of the food offering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in delivering seasonal, ingredient-led menus across all areas of the business.
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team, ensuring a positive and productive working environment.
- Step up to run the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
- Oversee food preparation and service, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation.
- Assist in menu development, events planning, and cookery school offerings.
- Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, food safety, and organisation.
- Ensure accurate allergen management and communication.
- Manage stock control, ordering, and waste management.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior team members.
- Work closely with Front of House and Events teams to deliver seamless guest experiences.
About You
- A passionate and creative chef with a strong interest in seasonal, sustainable cooking.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up.
- Confident in leading a team and managing kitchen operations.
- Calm, organised, and able to perform under pressure.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management.
- A natural team player with excellent communication skills.
- Committed to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement.
