GMP Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected manufacturer operating within the engineering sector. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Maintenance Manager to join the Engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a day shift role, working Monday to Friday between 06:00 – 16:00, with a starting salary oof up to £50,000 per annum. Flexibility for weekend work may be required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the maintenance team and ensuring the availability, reliability, and safety of all plant and equipment to support production and operational excellence.

Maintenance Manager – Main Responsibilities:

· Ensure all work is carried out in a safe working environment, adhering to company Health & Safety policies at all times.

· Manage, supervise, and develop the maintenance team, including allocating resources, scheduling, and performance management.

· Maintain and develop planned preventative maintenance (PPM), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies.

· Maintain, fault-find, and repair plant equipment across both sites to minimise downtime and optimise production.

· Utilise OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data to drive maintenance strategies and process improvements.

· Maintain, control, and organise all technical drawings, equipment manuals, and departmental documentation.

· Plan and manage departmental budgets, working hours, overtime, and holiday allocation.

· Organise scheduled inspections, risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) for all equipment.

· Oversee procurement, availability, and management of spares, consumables, and 3rd-party maintenance resources.

· Support HR processes related to recruitment, employee issues, and apprenticeships.

· Promote cross-functional competences and a culture of continuous improvement across the department.

· Support project management, installation, and commissioning of new plant and engineering installations.

· Ensure departmental tools, equipment, and workspaces are maintained in a clean, safe, and organised manner.

· Participate in energy management initiatives to optimise gas, electricity, and water consumption.

· Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses in line with company procedures.

Maintenance Manager – Required Skills and Experience:

· Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy engineering equipment.

· Experience in maintenance within foundry processes and production environments preferred but not essential.

· Excellent organisational, leadership, and resource management skills.

· Ability to work independently and proactively, with a positive, adaptable, and flexible attitude.

· High level of commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

· Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Email) and basic electrical knowledge; PLC/ladder diagram experience advantageous.

· Advantageous (Desirable) Skills:

· First Aid, Fire Safety, FLT driving licence, MEWP licence.

· OHC competent with lifting/slinging.

· Basic electrical skills and experience with industrial plant equipment.
