GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a long-established, forward-thinking and highly respected law firm with over 150 years of history, based in Cheltenham. We are currently supporting their recruitment for an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join their well-regarded Commercial Department on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Commercial Lawyer to work alongside experienced lawyers and partners, advising on a broad range of commercial property matters. The firm is recognised as one of Gloucestershire’s premier law firms and is committed to investing in your future through continuous training, development, and genuine career progression.

We are looking for an individual that can demonstrate 3-5 years PQE or more with a highly competitive salary on offer of up to £60,000 per annum, working Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

The successful candidate will inherit an existing caseload and will play an important role in the continued growth of the department within a supportive and flexible working environment.

Commercial Lawyer – Main Duties:

  • Manage an existing caseload with minimal supervision
  • Advise and liaise with clients on a range of commercial property matters
  • Handle sale and purchase of commercial property transactions
  • Advise on all aspects of commercial leases
  • Maintain well-organised, up-to-date files in line with firm standards
  • Deliver a high level of client care and communication
  • Utilise IT and case management systems effectively
  • Work closely with partners and colleagues to support departmental growth

Commercial Lawyer – Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years PQE or equivalent preferred
  • Proven ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines consistently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent client handling and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
  • High attention to detail and professional standards
  • Confident using PC systems and legal software
